I Am Here!

I have now been in Sweden for 2 nights! Sorry it took a while to post but I have been exhausted.  Things are going really well right now.  I will try to break down all the little things and how they are.  The food has been a bit of an adjustment. The people here are very friendly.  The town is small but I would say maybe similar to a Brighton or maybe a little bigger.  I walk everywhere so I have been try to learn my way around the city.  My flat is quite nice.  I believe I will get a roommate next week.  He is another new player but is from Sweden.  My flat has 2 bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and bathroom.  Plenty of space for me.  I will try to get picts or a video up of it maybe next week. Now for the basketball side.  Practice has gone well the first 2 days.  My legs have been very tired and we are at a really high altitude here in Nassjo but besides that, good.  I am getting along well with my teammates and they are all great guys and great players.  I think our team will be very good. I am really excited about being here but I definitely miss people back home.  Keep the prayers coming!  I will try to update the blog every couple days or if something cool happens.

Almost There

Alright, I now have less than a week before I will be in Sweden. I have everything done from my end including contract signed/ work visa applied for.  My wife threw me a surprise going away party this past weekend and that was great! I had no idea she was planning it and it was really nice having my friends and family there! The team just lost 2 days ago so I believe there record is 8-3 right now? I am hoping I can come in and make an impact right away! Thanks again to those who are following me on here, I will have a lot more exciting news soon!

Update/Paper

Edit*Just got my flight details!! I will be flying out on December 27th and flying back home on April 18th!! I will be flying into Copenhagen, Denmark and from there will have someone picking me up or will be taking a train to Nassjo.  This was great news for the day!
Had a really nice write up in the paper today.

Newspaper Article

Been trying to figure out what exactly I will need to be bringing with me. What kind of adapters I'll need for the important stuff....xbox 360 :)
I've been talking with a guy I used to play against, Will Walker who played at Bethel and is now playing Pro ball in Sweden. The guy was a great player and has been a huge help in my transition process. I'll throw in a pict below, he is the one in the #33 jersey.  Nothing really new right now but as soon as I get some info it will be on here. Thanks for all the love. - Rob

Birthday

Alright, I now have officially 4 followers! Thanks family ;)  Today was a great day for many reasons. First it was my birthday and who doesn't like those days but I had some contact with the club president in Sweden.  I was informed that my flat would have 3 rooms so plenty of space for my family when they come visit! I also found out that I will have Internet at my flat which I was not sure about so that is great! It will make it much easier for skyping with friends and family as well as updating my blog and playing xbox!  Isn't life wonderful! God really is good and I am so grateful for His blessings!  Becca had this picture made up for me for my b-day which is now a permanent fixture in the man cave. She must think I am vain or something :)  Once again, I appreciate all the love and support and I will have a lot more to say once I actually leave. Oh, I also found out my flight will be either the 27th or 28th of December.  God Bless

The Beginning

Well, I have officially accepted an offer to go play professional basketball for the Nassjo Highlanders, a basketball team from Nassjo, Sweden.  Becca has helped set me up with this blog to keep my friends and family in the loop of everything that is going on so bear with me as I learn the system and work on my blogging skills. :)  I appreciate all the love and support that I have gotten from all the friends and family.  I wouldn't be where I am today without all of you so thank you! Here is the article which is posted on the SAU and MCC websites and I'll do my best to update the blog every few days.
